No Sugar- Sugar Cookies Recipe with SPLENDA®

I love this time of the year. The weather starts to warm up, flowers blossom and we have the celebration of Easter. It’s a time for family gatherings, fun spring crafts with the kids and cute pastel colored treats! 

I am excited to share with you this simple and fun recipe for ‘No Sugar- Sugar Cookies’ by Splenda. The cookies are delicious, buttery and satisfy the sweet tooth without the overload of sugar like a standard cookie.. My kids just love it when we make a batch! It makes a great dough for cut out cookies. They are made with a core ingredient of the best-tasting sweetener on the market, Splenda.  SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated measures cup for cup like sugar. And even though you use it to sweeten just like sugar, it has 678 fewer calories per cup—so you can significantly reduce the calories and carbohydrate in your favorite recipes. Can be used almost anywhere sugar is used!

Let’s dive into the delicious cookies! We use the recipe straight from the Splenda website HERE. You can also find nutritional information for the cookies, other recipes and information about Splenda there as well. 

Some supplies to get started:


  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup light butter
  • 1 cup SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener, Granulated
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup egg substitute
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3/4 teaspoon vinegar (white or cider)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups cake flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly oil a cookie sheet and set aside.

Blend together butters, SPLENDA® Granulated Sweetener and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl with an electric mixer, or by hand. Blend until butter is softened. Add egg substitute, water and vinegar. Mix briefly. Add flours, salt and baking powder. Mix on low speed, until dough is formed. Do not overmix.

Remove dough from the bowl and place on a floured work surface. Divide dough in half. Pat each half into a circle and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate approx. 1 hour, allowing dough to chill.

Remove dough from the refrigerator and roll out on a floured work surface to desired thickness, approx. 1/4 inch. Cut with cookie cutters. Place cookies on a prepared sheet.

Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F oven 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned on the back. Cool on a wire rack.

    Why does this recipe contain vinegar? Also can you substitute an egg instead of egg substitute and water.
